Developmental Editing Services
Over the last decade I have narrated many audiobooks, from non-fiction medical journals and meditation guides, to high fantasy fiction and even the dark romance genre. I love bringing books to life with my voice and pride myself on working closely with the author to really try and get in the headspace of a character and understand how they might talk, from their accent and choice of words, to their cadence and mindset.
For many of my clients I offer both narration and developmental editing services, assisting my clients with the creative aspect of the book. So, If you want input, creative support on brainstorming ideas, how to keep the plot moving, keeping characters in line with their personality and motives - this is where I come in. With my decades working on character design as an actor, I love getting deep into the heart of your book, understanding your characters and making sure the story is flowing truthfully and keeping its momentum.
Feel free to make contact with me to discuss rates for your book!

"Working with Christopher Dukes on Echoes of the Forsaken has been nothing short of extraordinary. He didn't just narrate, he embodied the cast. Characters like Eryndor and Devlin were delivered with such clarity and voice distinction that I found myself re-experiencing my own story through a new lens. At times, I couldn't believe all of these characters came from one voice!
He was also an absolute joy to work with. Professional, responsive and fully committed to honoring the tone and vision of the narrative. To any author seeking a narrator who doesn't just read but performs with heart, soul and precision, Christopher is the voice you've been waiting for!"

Author of Echoes of the Forsaken
"I first met Chris through ACX when he auditioned to narrate my first book, and from the very beginning it was clear he brought far more than just a great voice to the project.
After we discussed the background and tone of the story, he began recording, and what followed exceeded all my expectations.
Chris didn’t just narrate my book; he became a true creative partner. He helped me edit the manuscript in ways that genuinely improved the pacing, clarity, and overall storytelling. His insight into narrative flow and character development elevated the work far beyond where it started.
I’ve also been lucky enough to meet with Chris in person, where we’ve workshopped ideas together and explored ways to make my realm I’ve created more exciting and immersive. Those sessions have been invaluable, not just for the book itself, but for my growth as a writer.
As a novice author, I now view Chris as an invaluable mentor, and I’m incredibly grateful to have met him so early in my writing journey. His professionalism, creativity, and generosity with his knowledge make him a rare find. I couldn’t recommend him more highly as both a creative editor and a narrator."
